Meet the Teacher

Barbie Roper.. I have heard every joke there is about my name!  I am a Barbara but no one ever calls me that!  I grew up in Oregon and went to college at Whitworth University in Spokane, WA.  I have a BA in psychology and a MA in Elem Ed.  I went back to school to be a teacher after working with kids with behavior issues.  My husband hates taking pictures hence none of him on here but my other love Kaden loves it!  I have taught kindergarten at the same school for the last 10 years!  It is great place to work! We have one dog coco and two cats!

Q: What would you be doing if you weren’t a teacher?                                              
A:  I don't know! Crafty stuff....

Q: What are your hobbies?                                                                                    
A:  Reading, reading and reading!  I love to read, create stuff and play with Kaden..and some retail therapy once in awhile! Playing on the computer!

Q: When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?                      
A:  I wanted to be like my dad a psychologist!  or a rock star! Ha!
    
Q: What are your guilty pleasures?                                                                   
 A: CHOCOLATE!  I love it.. brownies, chocolate chip cookies or Lindor Chocolates okay any will do!  I also love Starbucks Coffee!  
Q: What is your biggest fear?!                                                                        
 A: Spiders... yucky!  My dog is terrified of fans and obsessively looks at them during the day!  

Q: When you’re on vacation, where do you like to go?                                    
 A: Tropical... I love the beach, ocean and sand!  I really love Hawaii because my husband and I meet there!
                                                          
Q: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?                                                    
A:  Laugh!  It really is the best medicine!

Q: What do you value most in others?                                                                    
A:  Honesty, Sense of Humor..

Q: If you could choose one of your personality traits to pass down to your kids, what would it be?                                                                                                         
A: Being able to laugh at anything... even when it isn't suppose to be funny!   

Q: If you could have lunch with anyone in the world….living or dead…who would it be?                                                                                                                
A:  My friends... I don't see them that much living in NC and they are in OR or WA!  I would also love spending time with my mom!  Just don't see her enough!

Now tell us one random thing about yourself:

I have lived in California, Oregon and Washington!  

I met my husband in a bar in Hawaii while I was on vacation!  (in Moose McGillycuddy's in Waikiki!)

P.S I do not fish but the blog with fishing is my brothers!  He takes the most beautiful pictures of his fly fishing and catches!
